DELAWARE GHOST TOURS AND INVESTIGATIONS F.A.Q. What can I expect on a tour? For starters – a lot of fun! Our tours are not “jump out and scare you” tours like you would find on haunted trails around Halloween. We call what we offer “ghost hunting lite” and your experience will depend on the tour. We combine history with local folklore and legend as well as true ghost stories told to us by those who have experienced them. To enhance your experience, we also offer the use of equipment used by paranormal investigators. Will I see a ghost on your tours? Quite possibly! We’ve had many tour and investigation participants see, hear, and smell otherworldly things. While the experience will be different for everyone, we’ve had everything from full body apparitions to mists, orbs, and meter activity occur during our tours. We encourage everyone to keep an open mind – you never know what may come up! Can I schedule a private tour? Absolutely! Please contact us for information on how to schedule a private ghost walk for groups of 12 or more! Can children come on your tours? Our ghost tours, walks, trains, and investigations are designed for participants of at least 13 years of age, with a few exceptions. Dayett’s Mill, for example, offers an early family style tour that accommodates children. Children also seem to enjoy our Wilmington & Western Ghosts of the Brandywine Valley Express. We would say that you know your child best, and should use your discretion as to whether they can participate in a tour. Can disabled individuals enjoy your tours? We will make every effort to accommodate disabled persons on our tours. However, it should be noted that most of our tours require an hour or more of walking and standing. Both Dayett’s Mill and Abbott’s Mill contain narrow passages and staircases. In addition, the Wilmington & Western Ghost of the Brandywine Express requires embarking and disembarking from the train at three separate stops for full enjoyment of the program. Please contact us for more information as to how we can help you enjoy our tours. What should we wear/bring on a tour? All tour participants should wear comfortable, rubber-soled shoes and weather appropriate clothing. Some people prefer to wear dark colored clothing for our investigations, but it’s certainly not necessary. Flashlights, cameras, and digital recorders are welcome. What if I have to cancel my tour reservation? Delaware Ghost Tours and Investigations allows for cancellation with full refund by a tour participant within 48 hours of any scheduled tour. Because our tours book quickly, we will be unable to refund an participant who chooses to cancel less than 48 hours prior to any tour, but we will gladly reschedule you for a later tour of your choosing. What happens if it rains? Rarely, Delaware Ghost Tours and Investigations may have to cancel a tour at short notice due to inclement weather or unsafe site conditions. If this should happen, all registered tour participants will be offered a stop on a rescheduled tour or a full refund of payment. Typically, we will run tours in the rain as long as there isn’t lightning or downpours. A little drizzle and gloom adds to the mood! Are you affiliated with any other local paranormal investigation groups? We are not. Although we have a lot of friends in the field, and some of our members also participate with private groups, we are our own entity – the first to open up the world of ghost hunting to the public in Delaware. All of our tour guides and techs are trained in paranormal investigation and equipment use. Some are even sensitives! |
